For PCs that run 3D Systems’ Design X software and have an NVIDIA Quadro video card, we sometimes recommend setting certain parameters in the NVIDIA Control Panel to employ Quadro’s maximum performance.
Artec Studio 12 can directly transfer 3D meshes into Design X, so many users install it on the same PC and use the same Nvidia Quadro preset. That’s why we’ve tested all Artec Studio algorithms that actively employ a video card (3D rendering of large data sets, real-time fusion scanning mode, and texture mapping) with this preset. Overall, Artec Studio 12 works well for this configuration, so you can safely modify your PC’s Nvidia Control Panel settings as follows.
1. Adjust image settings with preview
Select "Use the advanced 3D image settings" option:
2. Manage 3D settings - Global Settings
Choose Dassault Systemes CATIA - compatible under "Global presets", then select High-performance NVIDIA processor under "Preferred graphics processor" (this last option is available only if your PC has both Intel and NVIDIA cards):
3. Manage 3D settings - Program Settings
Select 3D Systems Geomagic Solutions using the "Add" button and choose Prefer maximum performance next to "Power management mode":
4. In Design X, switch Hardware Multi-thread Rendering Support in Preferences to "True":
